European Parliament votes on proposal to relax gas storage rules
The European Parliament's Energy Committee has voted on a proposal to relax the rules on filling European gas storage facilities. The proposal sets a filling target of 83% (instead of the current 90%), to be achieved between October 1 and December 1 (instead of November 1 under the current rules). The text still needs to be adopted by the Parliament in plenary session. It will then be discussed with the Council of Ministers and the European Commission starting on May 13.
