US oil exports are expected to reach a record high in April

US crude oil exports could rise by 33% in April to reach 5.2 million barrels per day, compared with 3.9 million barrels per day in March. Demand from Asia for US oil has risen by 82% to 2.5 million barrels per day, as Asian countries normally source their supplies from the Persian Gulf states. The increase in exports is affecting prices on the US domestic market. The WTI index thus exceeded $110 a barrel this week, a 40% rise compared to its pre-war level.
