The World Bank to finance the construction of nuclear power plants

The World Bank, which for more than 30 years had refrained from financing nuclear power plant construction projects, is now going to participate in the financing of nuclear projects, in partnership with the International Atomic Energy Agency. More specifically, the Bank will finance investments to extend the lifespan of existing power plants and investments to reinforce the network made necessary by the development of new nuclear capacity.
