The United States withdraws from the IPCC
On 7 January, the United States withdrew from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The United Nations Framework Convention is a treaty adopted in 1992 with the aim of coordinating action by States to combat climate change. The United States is also withdrawing from the International Renewable Energy Agency, the International Energy Forum and the UN mechanism for inter-agency collaboration in the field of energy.
