The United States tightens sanctions against Iranian oil

The US administration has announced new sanctions against Iran, targeting around fifty leading Iranian figures, a fleet of oil tankers, a refinery and an oil terminal in China. The United States is seeking to reduce Iran's oil revenues, in particular by getting China to reduce its purchases of Iranian oil. The announcement of new sanctions comes just a few weeks before Donald Trump and Xi Jinping are due to meet in South Korea.
