The United States and Singapore sign a civil nuclear agreement

The United States and Singapore have signed a series of agreements in the field of civil nuclear power. Singapore depends on oil and gas for its energy supply. To achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, Singapore wants to develop nuclear power plants. In particular, the agreement with the United States will enable Singapore to participate in a US State Department programme on SMRs (small modular reactors).
