The United Kingdom partially suspends sanctions on Russian oil
The UK government will partially reauthorize imports of refined Russian oil through third countries in order to address supply difficulties it is facing or may face in diesel and jet fuel. The United Kingdom had banned imports of Russian oil in October 2025. The easing applies only to certain sanctions imposed on Russia, not to all of them, and is expected to be temporary. The United States has taken similar measures in an attempt to reduce petroleum product prices on its domestic market.
