The UAE wants an international coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz
The United Arab Emirates is prepared to join an international naval force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Discussions are currently underway with the United States, Europe and various countries in the region with a view to establishing such a force. The UAE and Bahrain are seeking a UN Security Council resolution to grant the coalition a mandate. However, such a resolution is unlikely to materialise, as Russia or China are likely to veto it.
