The International Monetary Fund has lowered its growth forecast for 2025
Global growth is expected to slow amid a shift in economic policies and new uncertainties. Globally, inflation is expected to continue to slow despite upward revisions in some countries. Escalating trade tensions and high policy uncertainty are expected to weigh on growth. Under these conditions, global economic growth is projected to reach 2.8% in 2025 and 3.0% in 2026. Growth in the United States is expected to be 1.8% in 2025 and 1.7% next year. Growth in the eurozone is expected to reach 0.8% this year and 1.2% next year. Finally, growth is expected to slow in China, reaching 4.0% in 2025 and 2026.
