The green hydrogen sector is going through a difficult crisis. The shares of companies in the sector have collapsed on the stock markets in the United States and Europe, while most projects have been postponed or even cancelled and demand has failed to materialise. Green hydrogen is seen as an essential vector for decarbonisation in sectors such as steel and cement production. Last month, consulting firm McKinsey revised its forecast for green hydrogen production in the United States by 70% by 2030. Last July, the European Court of Auditors judged the European Commission's green hydrogen production targets (10 million tonnes by 2030) to be unrealistic.
