The government wants to refocus small-scale solar projects on self-consumption
The French government has three objectives regarding small-scale solar projects (under 100 kWp): to focus public support on self-consumption, to reduce the burden of public support on the state budget, and to manage the pace of project roll-out more effectively.
The government wishes to see the development of solar photovoltaics among private individuals continue and is committed to continuing to support the installation of systems on detached houses, small buildings and block-of-flats. However, the terms of public support are set to change: a significant reduction in the feed-in tariff for surplus energy, a reduction or, in some cases, the abolition of the self-consumption bonus, and virtually zero remuneration during periods of negative prices.
