The government wants to encourage certain areas to completely phase out natural gas
The government wants to create 100 “zero-gas” territories that could be disconnected from natural gas networks. These 100 areas are expected to be designated over the summer. The idea is to act in a coordinated manner to avoid having to maintain gas networks for sharply reduced consumption by eliminating natural gas use across geographically coherent areas. The issue of financing the cost of dismantling gas networks in these zero-gas territories has not yet been addressed.
