The government asks EDF to improve the conditions offered to manufacturers
The French Minister for Industry has asked EDF to improve the conditions, particularly in terms of price, offered to electricity-intensive industries under the long-term contracts currently under discussion with certain very large consumers of electricity. To date, no contracts have been concluded and the letters of intent signed represent only around 10 TWh of annual consumption. The agreement negotiated between EDF and the government was made official on 14 November. Some large consumers want part of EDF's hydroelectric production to be allocated to long-term contracts in order to bring down the price.
