The French government is calling on the UK government to give more support to the Hinkley Point C nuclear project.
The French government is currently lobbying the UK government to provide a guarantee for the £46 billion Hinkley Point C nuclear project. A guarantee from the UK government would bring down the cost of the project and allow EDF to finance it without burdening its own balance sheet. For the moment, the British government is sticking to its guns and refusing to get involved in a project that it considers to be a private project.
