Initially scheduled for the end of the summer, the Flamanville EPR's full-power operation has been postponed. The reactor restart, initially scheduled for August 13, has been postponed to October 1. A series of tests should then begin to enable the plant to reach 80% operating capacity before reaching full power on December 21. The cost of the Flamanville EPR has been estimated by the Court of Auditors at €23.7 billion, compared with the €3.3 billion initially planned in 2004. The €23.7 billion figure includes interest paid during the construction period.
