The Flamanville 2 EPR has been operating at full capacity since 14 December
The Flamanville 2 EPR reached 100% capacity and fed 1,570 MW into the grid (out of a gross electrical power of 1,670 MW) on 14 December. The reactor had been connected to the grid on 21 December 2024. The ramp-up of the reactor was delayed by a series of incidents and a four-month shutdown from mid-June to mid-October after leaks were discovered on valves. The reactor will have to be shut down on 26 September 2026 for a period of nearly one year, during which time the first inspection will be carried out and the reactor cover, which has been defective since the outset, will be replaced.
