The government has decided to reduce the feed-in tariff for surplus electricity produced by large-scale solar installations by 6.8% as of 1 July. The feed-in tariff will decrease from 95 euros per MWh to 88.60 euros. The rate of £95 per MWh was itself a sharp drop from the rate in effect before the end of March. In total, the feed-in tariff for this category of installation will have fallen by 19.5% since the beginning of the year. The feed-in tariff for surplus electricity produced by solar installations at residential customers' homes was cut by two-thirds in February to £40 per MWh.
