The European Parliament adopts the draft reform of the internal electricity market

The text approved by the European Parliament authorises Member States to introduce Contracts for Difference in order to facilitate investment in low-carbon power generation technologies: wind, solar, geothermal, hydro and nuclear. The text also charges ACER with studying the European PPA market and making proposals to facilitate the conclusion of PPAs, for example by introducing standardised contracts.
