EU ETS 2, the new carbon market covering the building and road transport sectors, scheduled to start in 2027, could be postponed. Indeed, some Member States seem unable or unwilling to meet the deadline of April 30, 2024, for reporting emissions to the Commission. These States make no secret of their desire to obtain an amendment to a system whose implementation will lead to an inevitable increase in the price of fuel or heating for individuals and businesses.
