The Cour des Comptes publishes a report on energy saving certificates
In a report published this week, the French Audit Office (Cour des Comptes) severely criticises the energy saving certificate scheme, describing it as unstable and costly for households, and deeming its impact on consumption to be overestimated. The Cour des Comptes points out that 280 regulations have been adopted since 2018 to develop the scheme. The cost of the scheme is estimated at €6 billion a year. Finally, the Cour des Comptes estimates that the savings generated by the CEE scheme are overestimated by at least 30%. In its conclusions, the Court calls for an in-depth reform of the scheme.
