The CNDP launches the public debate on the modernisation of the high-voltage electricity network
On Thursday 4 September, the National Commission for Public Debate launched the public debate on RTE's plan to modernise the high-voltage electricity network. Members of the public are invited to express their views until 14 January 2026 on the ten-year network development plan, which provides for €100 billion of investment to modernise and extend the network between now and 2040. The plan is justified by the ageing of the network, the need to adapt to climate change, the arrival of new means of production (particularly offshore wind power) and new consumption sites (decarbonisation of industry, data centres).
