The British government awards generous contracts for wind power

The British government has awarded contracts for difference for 8,400 MW of offshore wind capacity, including 192 MW of floating wind turbines. The guaranteed price for energy produced by the installations ranges from £90 per MWh for conventional installations to £216 per MWh for floating wind turbines. Market prices in the United Kingdom currently range between £70 and £80 per MWh.
