Senate votes to lower the threshold below which wind farms will have to disconnect in the event of negative prices

On the night of 8 to 9 December, senators adopted a government amendment lowering the threshold below which wind farms subject to purchase obligations must disconnect in the event of negative prices from 10 MW to 1 MW. In its 2025 forecast, RTE calls for the extension of "controlled modulation" to medium-sized electricity generation facilities (between 1 and 10 MW). The Senate also adopted an amendment confirming the switch to 15-minute intervals for calculating additional remuneration for renewable electricity generation facilities. Until now, additional remuneration was calculated using average hourly spot prices.
