Russia blocks Kazakh oil exports bound for Germany

Russia wants to block oil transits via the Druzhba pipeline, which runs through Russia and transports oil produced in Kazakhstan to Germany. In Germany, the pipeline supplies the PCK refinery, which provides the Berlin region with fuel oil, kerosene, and gasoline. The German government is studying alternative options to supply the refinery, in particular via the port of Rostock. The PCK refinery remains 54% owned by the Russian oil group Rosneft.
