Renewable energy's share of electricity generation to reach 56% by 2023

The share of renewable energies in electricity production will reach 56% in 2023, compared with 46.3% in 2022. Wind power has become the leading source of electricity generation, accounting for 31.1% of the German electricity mix, ahead of photovoltaic (12.1%), biomass (8.4%) and hydro (3.4%).
