Renewable energy support costs set to rise in 2024

The cost of the public energy service, which includes the cost of supporting renewable energies, is expected to reach €4.2 billion in 2024, an increase of €3.5 billion compared with 2023, due in particular to the fall in market prices.
In 2024, wind generation will continue to generate net revenues of €250 million for the government, with other sectors receiving subsidies.
By 2025, the cost of supporting renewable energies should return to its pre-crisis level of around €6 billion.
