Reliance Industries to stop buying oil from Russia

The Indian company Reliance Industries will stop buying oil from Russia in order to avoid violating sanctions imposed by the US administration and the European Union against Russian oil companies. Reliance Industries is India's largest refiner. The European Union will ban the importation of petroleum products refined from Russian oil into Europe as of 21 January 2026. Last December, Reliance Industries signed a contract with Rosneft for the delivery of 500,000 barrels per day.
