QatarEnergy invokes force majeure

QatarEnergy invoked force majeure after halting liquefied natural gas production at the Ras Laffan site. Qatar is the world's second-largest producer of LNG, with an annual output of 110 billion cubic metres. Most of Qatar's LNG production is sold in Asia. In 2025, Qatar delivered 12 billion cubic metres of LNG to Europe, including 5 billion cubic metres to Italy. No indication has been given as to when production will resume at Ras Laffan.
