Poland wants a complete halt to Russian gas imports by 2026

In a letter to his European counterparts on 16 September, Polish Energy Minister Milosz Motyka called for the necessary measures to be taken to end Russian gas imports from 2026. On the same day, the President of the European Commission met with the US President and indicated that she wanted to propose an accelerated timetable for phasing out imports of Russian hydrocarbons.
