Poland to launch a call for tenders for the construction of 4 GW of offshore wind farms

The Polish government is to launch an invitation to tender for the construction of 4 GW of offshore wind power. The tender will take the form of a reverse auction for a 25-year contract for difference. Poland plans to install 18 GW of offshore wind power to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. An initial call for tenders has been awarded for the construction of 5.9 GW of offshore wind turbines, due to come on stream in 2026.
