Poland requests delay in entry into force of ETS 2 or even its cancellation
Poland believes that the European Union should consider cancelling the entry into force of the carbon market for buildings and road transport (ETS2). The Polish Ministry of Energy believes that the future ETS2 system is not really necessary. It is therefore calling for discussions on the possible cancellation of the extension of the ETS to buildings and road transport. Failing that, Poland wants to postpone its entry into force, scheduled for 2027, by at least three years in order to have the time needed to put in place compensatory measures to mitigate the economic and social effects of the new system.
