Major projects are under development, particularly in Germany
In recent weeks, a number of large-scale projects have passed important authorisation and financing milestones. The construction phase of Shell's 100 MW Refhyne II project near Cologne in Germany is set to begin. The project will supply Shell's refinery and petrochemical plants on the site with green hydrogen. Electricity company EWE has been given the go-ahead to develop a 280 MW project at Emden in northern Germany, which will supply 26,000 tonnes of green hydrogen to the region's manufacturers. In total, projects at an advanced stage of development represent the equivalent of 483 MW of capacity in Europe.
