The report on support for renewable energy has been submitted to the Prime Minister
Jean-Bernard Lévy and Thierry Tuot have submitted their report to the Prime Minister on support for renewable energy. The report provides an overview of the current situation and sets out 45 recommendations. In particular, the authors of the report recommend increasing electricity demand and consumption flexibility, and overhauling the energy tax system. They also propose modifying the support mechanisms for renewable energy: the widespread use of neutral tenders (open to all technologies), the abolition of open-ended funding schemes, priority support for major projects, the creation of a favourable framework for batteries, and measures to combat land speculation, which negatively affects project costs. Finally, Jean-Bernard Levy and Thierry Tuot propose channelling a portion of the funds from the Livret A savings account towards major renewable energy projects, similar to what is being considered for the financing of new nuclear power.
