GazelEnergie develops a hydrogen production project at its Saint-Avold site

GazelEnergie, a subsidiary of the Czech EPH group, is developing a large-scale hydrogen production project at its Saint-Avold site. On 11 February, the plant's cooling tower was blasted to make way for the project. The first developments date back to 2020. The hydrogen production facility is scheduled to come on stream in 2027. Estimated to cost €1 billion, the facility will eventually produce 56,000 tonnes of hydrogen.
