France to bury carbon dioxide in Norway

On 23 June, France and Norway signed an agreement that will allow the export and geological storage of French carbon dioxide in Norway. France will derogate from the 1996 London Protocol, which prohibits the shipment of carbon dioxide abroad for storage purposes. Norway has CO2 storage capacity of around 80 billion tonnes.
