France launches a 10 GW offshore wind tender
The government has just published the tender for the development and operation of 10 GW of offshore wind capacity. The tender represents five times the capacity already installed off the French coast. It comprises 11 lots, which are to be awarded in February 2027. The capacity is split equally between bottom-fixed turbines (5 GW) and floating turbines (5 GW). Bidders will have to offer a weighted average price per megawatt-hour of less than 100 euros, pegged to the production cost of the future EPR 2 reactors.
