France exported 92 TWh of electrical energy in 2025

France exported 92.3 TWh of electrical energy in 2025, compared with 89 TWh in 2024. Electricity produced in France was exported to Italy (22.6 TWh), Germany and Belgium (23.1 TWh), the United Kingdom (22.6 TWh) and Switzerland (20.1 TWh) . Trade with Spain was balanced. The export surplus was due to both the high availability of nuclear power plants and a decline in consumption, with the electrification of uses not offsetting gains in energy efficiency. In 2002, the export surplus reached 76 TWh.
