Finnish grid operator to launch flexibility trading platform

The Finnish electricity transmission system operator Fingrid will shortly be launching a trading platform on which to trade flexibility products (curtailment capacity, upward or downward production adjustments) that will be used to improve the management of electricity transmission or distribution networks. The platform, a first in Europe, should be operational for the winter of 2024-2025. It should accelerate the deployment of renewable energies and facilitate the management of electricity networks.
