Europe may not achieve its 2030 emissions reduction target

In a report on climate action published on 6 November, the European Commission warned that, without additional measures, Member States will only achieve a net reduction in emissions of 47% (compared to 1990 levels) by 2030, which is below the EU's target of 55%. However, the Commission estimates that additional measures could reduce emissions by 54% by 2030, which would require a very strong commitment from Member States in the fight against climate change.
