Europe benefits from the declining attractiveness of the United States in the renewable energy sector

In the first half of the year, Europe benefited from the fall in investment in renewable energies (wind and solar) in the United States. In the United States, investment in renewable energy fell from $55 billion in the second half of 2024 to $35 billion in the first half of 2025, a fall of 36%. In contrast, investment in Europe has risen by 63% over the same period to reach $75 billion in the first half of this year. Growth in wind energy was particularly strong, with investments totalling $40 billion.
