EDF's nuclear output rose in the first half

EDF's nuclear generation reached 189.9 TWh in the first half of the year, up 8 TWh on the first half of 2025. Load-following fell from 18.3 TWh in the first half of 2025 to 13.3 TWh in the first half of 2026, as renewables took on more of the modulation this year than last. To comply with regulations, EDF was forced to shut down three reactors and cut output at nine others during June's heatwaves. The company will spend 8.7 billion euros over the next fifteen years adapting its generation fleet to climate change.
