EDF revises its nuclear power generation forecast upwards
EDF has raised its forecast for nuclear generation in 2025 from 350-370 TWh to 365-375 TWh. Output in 2025 should therefore be higher than in 2024 (361.7 TWh). This increase in output is due to better control of reactor maintenance shutdowns. As a result, EDF is back on track, whereas output had been falling since the mid-2010s as a result of longer maintenance outages, the closure of the two Fessenheim reactors and stress corrosion. However, at 429 TWh, output is still lower than it was 20 years ago.
