EDF Energies Renouvelables wants to sell assets in the United States and Brazil
EDF wants to reduce its renewable energy activities in the United States and Brazil. The group wants to focus on France and nuclear power and is therefore considering selling all or part of its non-core assets. The sale of Edison or Dalkia has been mentioned.
In the renewable energy sector, EDF is considering selling 50% of the North American and Brazilian subsidiaries of EDF Renewables. The North American subsidiary accounts for around one-third of EDF's renewable energy business. EDF Renouvelables posted a net loss of €1.45 billion in 2024 on revenue of €2.4 billion. At the same time, the subsidiary's net debt stood at €11.7 billion as of December 31, 2024.
