EDF could sell non-strategic assets to refocus on nuclear power in France
EDF Chairman Bernard Fontana has placed EDF's portfolio of subsidiaries under strategic review with the aim of selling those that are unprofitable or do not fit with the group's strategy. EDF operates 57 nuclear reactors in France and 15 nuclear reactors in the United Kingdom. The group has developed a significant portfolio in renewable energy and owns 100% of Edison (Italy) and Dalkia (energy services). EDF has committed to building six EPR 2 reactors, with the first due to come online in 2040. Edison and Dalkia could be among the assets up for sale.
