CRE publishes report on flexibility

The Energy Regulatory Commission has just published a report on "managing the new dynamic balances between energy supply and demand". The report examines the business models of storage and demand management mechanisms that contribute to short-term supply-demand balance in a context of renewable energy development. The report makes four recommendations:

  • Reform forward market products to take into account the influence of photovoltaic production;
  • Standardise and automate the exchange of flexibility-related data;
  • Increase the number of devices that can contribute to flexibility;
  • Strengthen cybersecurity to protect the French electricity system.
