CRE publishes its assessment of the full production costs of the historical nuclear fleet

The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has published its assessment of the full production costs of the historical nuclear fleet for the period 2026-2028. For the next three years, CRE has set the full cost of nuclear power at €60.32026/MWh. As a result, there should be no universal payment next year. The mechanism for taxing EDF's sales only takes effect when EDF's average selling price (estimated by the CRE at €65.86/MWh for 2026) is at least €5/MWh higher than the cost of historical nuclear power (the delta, set by decree, may be as much as €25/MWh).
