In a decision published on 7 January, the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) advised the government to lower the ceiling price for future solar photovoltaic tenders. The CRE notes that the prices proposed for the tenders organised in 2024 have not fallen significantly compared with 2023. However, the price of solar panels, which accounts for a quarter of project costs, fell by 36% in 2024. In Germany, the prices offered as part of calls for tenders fell by 27% last year. The government sets the price ceilings, which have not been made public since 2023.
