Centrica acquires the Isle of Grain LNG terminal from National Grid
In partnership with US fund Energy Capital Partners, Centrica is set to acquire the Isle of Grain LNG terminal, located in Kent near the Thames Estuary. The terminal, with a capacity of 21 billion cubic meters of gas, covers approximately 20% of the UK's natural gas demand. Centrica already owns the Rough gas storage facility and has just acquired a 15% stake in the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project. The transaction is valued at £1.5 billion.
