Algeria wants to increase its natural gas production by 45% by 2030
The Algerian Energy Minister has indicated that Algeria aims to increase its natural gas production by 45% by 2030, to 200 billion cubic metres per year. Algeria currently produces 137 billion cubic metres of gas, part of which is reinjected to ensure production, giving an available production of 104 billion cubic metres. New production will be destined for the domestic market or exported in the form of LNG. ExxonMobil recently signed a partnership agreement with Algerian national oil company Sonatrach to develop gas projects in Algeria.
