A mediator has been appointed to oversee discussions between industry and EDF
The government has entrusted Philippe Darmayan, former Chairman of Arcelor Mittal, with a mediation mission to facilitate discussions between EDF and industrial companies with a view to concluding long-term supply contracts. When the agreement between the government and EDF on regulating the price of nuclear electricity was announced on 14 November, the government insisted that EDF should sign medium- or long-term contracts with electricity-intensive industries and that a progress report would be drawn up six months later. Philippe Darmayan's mediation could last until mid-April.
